Work

The 'perfect storm' creates a number of challenges for the world of work. By this we mean the ever-decreasing birth rates, alongside increasing longevity and an elderly 'Baby Boomer' generation, combining to force radical changes in markets everywhere. This 'storm' will increasingly put a strain on the labour market. The 'Boomers' will form the main component of this increasing older-labour market, they will have higher expectations about the extent to which they continue working and the length of time they're prepared to commit to the workforce. Scenarios reflecting how this 'new' labour market will choose to work, for longer and from different locations, must be considered if the future economy is to be viable.
