From September 4 to 7, 2008, Montréal will welcome almost 1,500 participants from about 60 countries for the IFA's 9th Global Conference on Ageing. This international conference will bring together researchers, scientists, clinicians, policy makers and program managers who will share their knowledge, expertise and best practices in fields related to aging, particularly those pertaining to seniors' health, participation in society and security. In addition, given the global context of rapidly ageing populations, the conference will, for the first time, call upon experts in the field of design to develop new concepts to facilitate quality of life, break down barriers and adapt living environments for the benefit of older persons. For example, municipalities, train stations, airports, subway stations, apartments and seniors' residences should be adapted to enable older people to remain active in their communities and living in their own homes. More details are available on the conference Web site, www.ageingdesignmontreal.ca. If you wish to receive the 9th Global Conference on Ageing's monthly newsletter, simply e-mail Marie-Eve Brown at mebrown@vdm-adm.ca. Return to Events |
