| The 2011 ActiveAge Summit |
The ActiveAge Summit took place on the 7th June and was attended by over 100 people from the public, private and third sectors. We have now uploaded the speaker presentations from the day for anyone who would like to view these please click on the 'presentations' tab above. Background to the event As governments around the world continue to grapple with the health and social care needs of a rapidly ageing population, and as businesses, large and small, try to understand the market implications of the ageing ‘boomer’ generation, this year’s ActiveAge summit in Newcastle focused on how some city-regions are forging innovative partnerships to turn ageing into a competitive advantage. The Summit included a powerful gathering of forward thinking local, national and international leaders, interested in how and why the ageing demographic represents an enormous opportunity for their organisations, will consider how successful collaboration is key to capitalising on this opportunity.
